Feast Day Parade

If you would like your child to walk with WASPS in the Feast Day parade, please let us know asap, preferably today. Thank you!

Diamond Jubilee

We are planning to hold a ‘Street Party’ to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee on Thursday 31st May during the after school session.

June Half Term Holiday Club

We are now taking bookings for Half Term, we are open Wed 6th, Thurs 7th and Fri 8th June – you can book via Libacura if you require a place or speak to one of the Co-ordinators.

We are aiming to open the Summer Holiday Club week beginning 23rd July, week beginning 30th July and week beginning 6th August,  8 a.m.-6 p.m. providing we are able to staff the club sufficiently and there is enough demand. We are currently putting together a list of future Holiday Club dates which will hopefully help you in your planning.

Sand Pit - Can you help?

Our old sand pit area in the outside play area has seen better days and unfortunately is beyond repair. Currently this area is out of bounds to the children and doesn’t look very attractive. We are planning on filling the sandpit with concrete to create a nice area for possibly a free standing sand/water tray or as a base for one of our play houses. To do this we require some help please? We require some hardcore to fill the existing sandpit, do you have some we could use? Could you transport it to the Playhouse? Would you be willing to help concrete the area? If the answer to any of these questions is ‘YES’ then please speak to Zoë or Wayne as soon as possible – Thank you!

Feast Day 2012

Waterbeach Feast Day is on Saturday 16th June 2012, the theme this year is ‘Something beginning with F’ WASPS have decided on FRANCE.

·         We will be walking in the parade and require the children and adults taking part to be dressed in something that represents the country. Costumes from home are required please. Our suggestion is stripy tops and berets, props (that are easy to carry) are also welcome, such as French flags, string of onions, a baguette even! If you are feeling creative feel free to send your child in any other costume that represents France, maybe they could dress as a famous French artist? Please bear in mind the costume needs to be comfortable as the walk is long and appropriate to the weather on the day! We need adult helpers too, so why not join in the fun? Please look out for slips at the desk or call in this week if you would like your child to walk with us. We need to know numbers by the end of this week as the Community Association need to notify their insurers, so I’m sorry no late entrants after Fri 25th May.

·         If dressing up isn’t for you, then please would you consider helping out and being a WASPS parade marshall? (Ideally we need two). If you would like to help please see Zoë/Wayne this week. (The parade usually lasts approximately 1 hour)

·         We will have a WASPS stall on the Village Green on Feast Day, all profits made go directly to the club. The children will be busy painting French flags etc to decorate the stall. We will be raffling two hampers on the stall, one will be an ‘Adult Paper Hamper’ we would be very grateful if you could donate items to go in this hamper, e.g. wine, candles, toiletries, vouchers, chocolates etc. The other hamper will be a ‘Children’s Art Hamper’ again, we welcome any donations of arts and craft items, e.g. glue, paper, glitter, pens, paints, brushes, stencils etc. If you would prefer to give a monetary donation towards the hampers please see Zoë/Wayne. We will also be running a competition, ‘Find Asterix in France’ there will be a prize for the winner!

·         Please sign up to help on the WASPS stall for an hour on the day – your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
